We are all works in progress.
Personal development is a pursuit that lasts a lifetime. There’s always something new to learn (or unlearn) and improve. On that note, here are three things I’m still working on to become a better person.
1. Patience
I hate waiting in lines. I hate slow internet connection. I hate it when I don’t get things right the first time, which leads to my next point.
2. Self-compassion
Why is it easy to comfort a friend when he fails? Why is it easy to encourage a colleague when she’s beating herself up over a small mistake at work?
Why is it so easy to offer salve when others are struggling — yet much easier to throw stones at ourselves for missing the mark?
3. Adaptability
Aside from waiting, I hate it when things don’t go according to my plan. It drives me nuts! I’ve yet to learn how to go with the flow when things go out of my control.
How about you? What are you working on?
